Kidney Carcinoma - Treatment at Top Ihilov Clinic

In the early stages of the disease, non-surgical methods for destroying the tumour using ultrasound, laser, or X-ray radiation, and cold are possible. One such method, cryoablation, affects the tumour with low temperatures (-35 degrees) and freezes it, causing cancer cell death. The radiofrequency ablation method, on the other hand, heats the tumour to high temperatures, also leading to its death. The gamma knife method destroys the tumour using a precisely directed beam of X-ray radiation.

If the tumour is large, a nephrectomy is performed to remove it. The kidney itself may be removed partially or completely. The operation can be performed openly or laparoscopically through a probe.
