Colon cancer is one of the most common types of oncological diseases. Every year, more than fifty thousand people die from this disease in the United States alone. For effective treatment of intestinal cancer, it is important to diagnose the disease at an early stage. Accurate Diagnosis Program for Intestinal Cancer in Just 3 Days

The preliminary cost of the diagnostic examination program for suspected intestinal cancer is - 3,700$.

This price may vary depending on the dynamics of the disease, the patient's condition, and other factors.

Day One - Preliminary Consultation

On their first day at the clinic, the patient receives a consultation from a leading oncologist, a specialist in the treatment of intestinal cancer. The doctor carefully examines the medical history, the results of previous tests, if the patient has brought them along, and conducts a primary examination. Based on all the obtained data, a preliminary diagnostic plan is developed.

Day Two - Diagnosis

Researchers in oncological diseases have managed to identify precursors to colon cancer during a routine blood test. As is known, such precursors can be polyps and adenomas in the colon. If present, colon cancer develops in about 80% of cases after some time.

The doctors at Top Ichilov clinic have accumulated vast experience in diagnosing intestinal cancer. One of the most common and accurate tests for diagnosing intestinal cancer at an early stage is the fecal occult blood test. This test is usually recommended at Top Ichilov for patients who belong to at-risk groups:

  • Patients with diagnosed polyps or benign tumors;
  • Patients with a family history of the disease.

Experts note that in 60 – 90% of cases, patients with intestinal cancer have a positive occult blood test.

The downside of this method is that in at-risk patients, occult blood is detected in 98% of cases, but cancer is diagnosed only in 5 – 10% of cases. For this reason, doctors at Top Ichilov clinic recommend conducting this type of diagnosis in conjunction with others. The fecal occult blood test is performed three times. A consistently positive test result gives doctors full grounds to suspect the development of an oncological disease.

Patients in the at-risk group are also recommended to undergo the following types of examinations:

  • PET-CT using the latest generation devices. This is one of the most accurate diagnostic methods, allowing for the detection of tumours at the earliest stage and the most precise tracking of tiny metastases. Unfortunately, it is rarely used in CIS countries.
  • Rectoscopy – this is an endoscopic examination method of the rectum using a rectoscope, which is inserted through the anus.
  • Fibrocolonoscopy – this is an endoscopic examination of the colon using a thin flexible tube with optical fibers. With this device, doctors can see a detailed image on the monitor. The tube of this device has a channel for air supply and the introduction of instruments.
  • Irrigoscopy – this is a radiological method for examining the large intestine using a contrast agent.
  • Oncomarkers;
  • Ultrasound;
  • CT;
  • MRI using the latest installations with a resolution of 3 Tesla, allowing for the detection of any pathology at the earliest stage.

The doctors at Top Ichilov clinic practice the use of minimally invasive gentle methods for diagnosing intestinal cancer. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that allows for the diagnosis of cancer at early stages. We recommend that patients in the at-risk group seek help as early as possible and undergo the most accurate diagnostics at Top Ichilov clinic.

Day Three - Treatment Plan

The results of the tests are sent to an expert group, which is created specifically for each patient. The group consists of leading specialists in various fields of medicine: oncologists, proctologists, colorectal surgeons, radiologists. The result of the group's work is a plan for comprehensive individual treatment, which the experts monitor from start to finish.
