Treatment of Thyroiditis at the Top Ihilov Clinic

The treatment of the disease is primarily conducted using conservative methods. The patient is prescribed anti-inflammatory therapy while simultaneously compensating for the deficiency of thyroid hormones. If there is increased secretion of thyroid hormones, thionamides and beta-blockers are prescribed. During treatment, the immune system's function is adjusted, and the patient receives vitamins and trace elements.

A proper treatment program and systematic medication intake compensate for the pathological condition, leading to a stable, prolonged remission. Thyroiditis is not an aggressive disease; if treated in a timely manner, it does not cause problems for the patient.

Diagnosis of Thyroiditis at the Top Ihilov Medical Center

ThyroiditisAutoimmune chronic thyroiditis is an inflammatory process in the thyroid gland of autoimmune nature. The disease primarily affects individuals over forty years old, mostly women. In this pathology, the patient's body produces antibodies that destroy the hormone produced by the gland and harm the gland itself. Normally, antibodies in a person should only act on foreign substances and not react to their own hormones.

Patients usually consult a doctor with general complaints, sometimes with a sore throat, and only after examination and laboratory tests is thyroiditis diagnosed.

The diagnosis of the pathology is made based on the study of the medical history and laboratory tests. In a detailed complete blood count, an increased number of lymphocytes and a decrease in leukocytes can be observed. There is a deficiency of thyroid hormones in the blood, despite the thyroid gland producing them in excess. Often, thyroiditis is the cause of developing hypothyroidism. Upon examination of the thyroid gland, its enlargement is noted, and changes are observed in the immunogram. An ultrasound of the gland reveals unevenness in its structure, enlargement of the gland or its lobe, and the presence of nodules. To rule out malignant neoplasms, a biopsy of the gland's nodule is performed, and the biopsy is sent for histological examination.
