Professor Belassen is the head of the cardiology department specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias at Ichilov Medical Center. He also serves as the director of the laboratory conducting research on the electrophysiological activity of the heart at the same medical center. The professor has dedicated considerable time to studying the causes of heart arrhythmias and their treatment. In his practice, he applies the well-studied surgical treatment method for arrhythmias known as radiofrequency ablation. He places great importance on pharmacological therapy for rhythm disorders. To achieve the maximum response to the conducted medication therapy, the treatment course is tailored individually for each patient. The professor also specializes in the installation of cardiological pacemakers and defibrillators.
Belassen graduated from the medical school in France. After completing his residency, he received cardiology specialization at Fernand Vidal Hospital. He has repeatedly enhanced his qualifications at the University of Hahnemann in Philadelphia and at the Broussais Clinic in Paris.
A significant amount of time in Professor Belassen's life is devoted to teaching activities, giving lectures at the medical faculties of Tel Aviv University, Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and Broussais University in France. For his achievements, he has been awarded the title of professor.
The professor has received numerous prestigious awards for a series of scientific research works. Among them, he has repeatedly received the Henry Newfeld Award, the Israel Medical Association Award, and others. Belassen is the author of a large number of monographs and scientific papers on cardiology, published in Israel and abroad.
